This DVD takes you on a journey of exploration and discovery across Edinburgh and the surrounding area. Full of ideas of places to go and things to see, you'll find everything here from Fife's magical fishing villages to the majesty of Traquair House; from the natural wonders of Bass Rock to the historical wonders of Stirling Castle. Plus, of course, Edinburgh with its own fascinating history, its Festivals, its hotels and the sheer grandeur and fascination of its layout and its remarkable setting.
There is something in Edinburgh And Beyond for everyone. If you are new to Scotland, or to Edinburgh and its surroundings, then you'll find a complete "everything you ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask" guide to all of the key sights and attractions, a way of ensuring you make best use of your time and avoid missing those "must see" locations. But even if you think you know the Lothians like the back of your hand, you'll find surprises here: things to see and do you never knew existed.
Edinburgh And Beyond takes you on a series of journeys, one each to the north, south, east and west of the city. In between you are presented with a series of features about Edinburgh itself. These include insights into the darker side of the Old Town, with its hidden closes and ghosts; and the splendour of the Georgian New Town. Outwith the city you are taken to the little known and beautiful beach at Seacliff, and nearby Tantallon Castle; to the East Neuk of Fife including Scotland's Secret Bunker; to Traquair House and Abbotsford in the Borders; and to Culross in western Fife.
