3JU. This a beautiful Victorian Villa, built in 1860, is situated in the
Cairngorm National Park. The house has retained many original features and the
six luxury bedrooms are all individually designed with guests' comfort in mind.
Culdearn's elegant lounge provides a peaceful setting in which to meet other
guests or relax with a wee dram. In the hotel's renowned AA Rosette restaurant,
locally sourced fare includes excellent Scottish game and seafood. Guests might
like to try scallops set on an asparagus trellis with an Arbroath smokie sauce
or roasted venison with a red wine and bitter chocolate jus. All this is
accompanied by an impressive award winning wine list and an extensive selection
of malt whiskies. An ideal base for touring, there is also plenty to do in this
picturesque area - fishing, golf, shooting, ski-ing, bird watching and walking
are all nearby. Culdearn is also on the Whisky trail, with many distilleries in
the surrounding area offering a taste for the connoisseur and newcomer alike.
